Inter Milan are ready to open up formal talks with Arsenal to try and sign striker Folarin Balogun some time this week.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are ready to get a deal done provided the Gunners are willing to make a deal for €40 million.

Balogun lis one of Inter’s main targets in attack at this points.

The 22-year-old has fully convinced the Nerazzurri’s directors with his performances on loan for Reims in Ligue 1 last season.

Now, it looks as though everything will come down to whether Arsenal are willing to accept a bid that’s within their price range.

The Nerazzurri are preparing to open up the official talks with Arsenal.

Inter’s priority for the past few days has in fact been making progress in talks for Lazar Samardzic, However, they now appear to be right on the verge of signing the Udinese midfielder.

Inter Milan Want To Spend The Money Earmarked For Lukaku On Move For Balogun

Inter’s budget to sign a striker this summer is right around €40 million.

This had been the amount of money that the Nerazzurri had been prepared to spend to sign Romelu Lukaku.

Before Inter abruptly pulled the plug on talks for the Belgian, they had been close to an agreement with Chelsea on a fee. After unsuccessfully trying to get another loan deal, the Nerazzurri had a straight cash offer on the table.

Inter had been willing to offer Chelsea a €40 million fee for Lukaku. That was with the inclusion of all add-ons.

Therefore, Inter’s budget for a striker hasn’t really changed, even if their target has obviously become completely different compared to Lukaku.

According to FCIN, Inter are not yet sure whether Arsenal will accept a bid of €40 million for Balogun.

Should the Gunners be happy with that fee, then it is very probable that the US international will join Inter.

On the other hand, if Arsenal dig in their heels on a higher fee, then the Nerazzurri will likely walk away from talks.
