Inter Milan have decided to make the move to sign Gianluca Scamacca from West Ham United after Simone Inzaghi approved the move.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInter1908, who report that the coach’s go-ahead was a vital part of the Nerazzurri decision to start going after the 24-year-old Italian international.

Out-of-favour West Ham striker Scamacca now looks to be the player Inter have settled on to reinforce their attack.

The Italian international is far from the only player Inter have looked at in the course of their search.

On the one hand, there has been Arsenal-owned striker Folarin Balogun. The Nerazzurri directors certainly rate the 22-year-old US international’s talents very highly.

Then, there has been Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata. Reports suggest that Simone Inzaghi is a fan of the veteran Spanish international considering his experience and reliability.

But Scamacca looks to be the player who Inter are actually taking the plunge to sign.

Inzaghi Green Light Key To Inter Milan Move For Gianluca Scamacca

According to Mediaset, the Nerazzurri would not be making the move for Scamacca without the full endorsement from their coach.

Inzaghi has made clear that he wants an out-and-out Number Nine. The coach does not just want a goalscorer or a technically adept player.

Scamacca is a strong, physical centre-forward who has shown he can provide a reference point in attack. The Italian is also technically able to link up with teammates.

This is the kind of profile that Inzaghi had in mind in terms of who he wants to sign in attack this summer.

Therefore, the coach has given the all-clear.

The club directors, for their part, are content with the choice to go for Scamacca. A deal for the 24-year-old is certainly financially within their reach.

Moreover, the player falls within the sort of financially sustainable parameters that the Nerazzuri are striving for.

At the age of 24, Scamacca is an investment for the future rather than purely a short-term option.
