Atalanta have offered Merih Demiral to West Ham United in addition to a substantial cash fee for Inter Milan target Gianluca Scamacca.

This according to Italian news outlet Goal.com, who report that La Dea are aiming to get ahead of the Nerazzuri in the race for Scamacca’s signature.

In recent days, Inter have been moving fast to try and sign Scamacca.

The Nerazzurri are reportedly prepared to put forward around €30 million in total in terms of their offer. This would be sufficient to make a deal with West Ham.

Meanwhile, Roma by contrast have only been able to offer a loan with a purchase option.

Therefore, Inter have looked to be the team in pole position to sign Scamacca.

But Atalanta have come up with their own offer to sign the 24-year-old. And according to Goal, the Nerazzurri’s Lombard rivals have gotten ahead of them in the pursuit.

Atalanta Offer Demiral + Cash For Scamacca

According to Goal, Atalanta’s move has centred around the inclusion of defender Demiral in their offer.

The former Juventus and Sassuolo defender is currently very much out of favour at the Gewiss Arena. This comes after a conflict with his coach Gian Piero Gasperini.

Therefore, Demiral has always looked as though he’ll be on his way out this summer.

Inter have in fact been one of the clubs linked with a move for the Turk.

The Nerazzurri are still looking for a replacement for Milan Skriniar. Demiral had already been on their list to replace the now-Paris Saint-Germain star in January.

But Atalanta have other ideas.

According to Goal, they are ready to use Demiral as a bargaining chip in their bid for Scamacca.

The Lombards are aiming to sign another striker with Rasmus Hojlund’s big money move to Manchester United seemingly close at hand.

And West Ham have an interest in bringing Demiral in to bolster their defensive ranks.

Goal does not specify how much money Atalanta would offer in addition to Demiral going the other way. But it is reportedly a significant fee.

Therefore, Inter could be at risk of missing out on both Scamacca and Demiral this summer.
