Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah, Atletico Madrid’s Stefan Savic, and PSG’s Abdou Diallo are all on Inter Milan’s list of defensive targets.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the trio are all in the Nerazzurri’s thinking as they consider possible opportunities to replace Milan Skriniar late in the transfer window.

Inter have already done plenty of business this summer.

One thing that the Nerazzurri have not done, however, is secure a replacement for Skriniar.

Yann Bisseck has come in as a kind of defensive depth option. However, the German is not yet ready to be a regular starting-quality option, aged 22 and never having played regular football in a top five European league.

Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta seemed to be on the way.

But then the Spaniard decided to snub the Nerazzurri and join Atletico Madrid instead.

Therefore, Inter have been a bit back to square one. They have lined up plenty of potential candidates to be their final defensive signings for the summer.

But none have actually arrived yet.

Inter Monitoring Chalobah, Savic & Diallo

The Nerazzurri now have just under month to make a signing in defense.

Rafael Toloi has reportedly risen to the top of their list for the time being. Meanwhile, Inter are also considering the 32-year-old’s Atalanta teammate Merih Demiral.

But even now, Inter are keeping their options very much open.

The Nerazzurri will wait and see which players become available in the next few weeks, as a number of big European clubs become more and more determined to offload some of the redundant players in their squad.

In this case, Inter could well get a bargain.

One player the Nerazzurri have shown persistent interest in is Trevoh Chalobah.

The imminent arrival of Axel Disasi at Chelsea means that the Blues could open up to a fairly favourable deal for the 23-year-old Englishman.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid’s Stefan Savic has been on Inter’s radar for a long time.

The 32-year-old Montenegrin international would provide Champions League experience, as well as experience in Serie A from his time at Fiorentina.

Similarly, the Nerazzurri could try and move for former Borussia Dortmund defender Abdou Diallo from Paris Saint-Germain.

The 27-year-old spent the past season on loan with RB Leipzig. There looks to be little place for him in the Parisians’ project under Luis Enrique.
