New Inter Milan goalkeeper Emil Audero gave his first interview as a Nerazzurro. The Italian hails his new home, describing his transfer as a “qualitative leap”.

The 26-year-old has just completed his transfer from Sampdoria to Inter Milan on Thursday.

The club has officially announced the capture of the Juventus youth product this evening.

The custodian signs for the Italian giants on loan with the option to buy at the end of the season.

The Italo-Indonesian will mostly likely serve as an understudy to Yann Sommer who completed his transfer from Bayern Munich earlier this week.

Audero expressed his delight with his arrival at Inter Milan. He considers this transfer as a major quality leap for his playing career.

“This move means a lot to me, it’s a qualitative leap for many reasons,” said the former Sampdoria shot-stopper in his interview with Inter TV via FcInterNews.

“I’m coming to a club that needs no introduction. Inter reached the last Champions League final.

“I’m very happy and motivated. This gives me great drive and desire to do well.”

“I want to thank [Inter Milan legendary goalkeeper] Walter Zenga for his kind words. We’ve spoken briefly. I hope to prove my worth on the pitch.”

The new Inter Milan custodian believes his still has room for additional growth.

“Absolutely. It will be an important step for me. I want to achieve my dreams at a top club packed with experienced players. I’m here to grow.”

Aurero is already familiar with some of his new Inter teammates, having played alongside Nicolò Barella, Federico Dimarco and Alessandro Bastoni with the U21 Italian national team.

“Yes, we shared several good experiences. We also faced each other in various teams and categories. It’s great to reunite as teammates once again.

“My objective is trying to prove myself. I want to play and win as much as possible.”
