The agent of Inter Milan target Elye Wahi feels that negotiations with the 20-year-old’s club Montpellier won’t be easy.

Speaking to Italian news outlet L’Interista, Wahi’s agent Crescenzo Cecere suggested that a move to a team in Serie A wouldn’t be likely for the French striker given the amount that Montpellier are going to want to sell him.

Wahi is one of the names to have emerged as Inter look for a striker this summer.

The 20-year-old has come off the back of a very impressive season in front of goal in Ligue 1.

This has led to transfer interest not just from Inter but also from other top teams in Europe.

Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur are rumoured to be monitoring the Frenchman as a possible replacement for Harry Kane following the England captain’s move to Bayern Munich.

And Spurs would be joining their London rivals Chelsea in the race to sign Wahi.

Agent Of Elye Wahi Says Move To Serie A Unlikely

With Inter still needing to sign a striker before the summer transfer window slams shut, there could be one or two questions about their interest in signing Wahi picking back up.

However, the striker’s agent has poured cold water on the suggestion.

Cecere does not expect Wahi to be within the price range of a team like Inter.

The Nerazzurri’s financial constraints are well-known.

And as far as this summer, reports suggest that Inter will want to sign a striker in a relatively low-cost deal.

Given Wahi’s age and talent, this would make him very difficult for the Nerazzurri to go after. And for his part, the Frenchman’s agent makes no effort to hide that fact.

Cecere stated that “There’s no doubt that Wahi is too good of a player to stay at his current club.”

“But it’s very tough to see a team like Inter getting him,” the agent then added frankly.

“Montpellier aren’t going to let him go for a reasonable fee,” he added. “Negotiating with them won’t be easy.”
