Goalkeeper Emil Audero will make his debut for Inter Milan in today’s friendly match against Albanian club Egnatia.

This according to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, via FCInterNews.

This summer, Audero joined Inter from Sampdoria.

The 26-year-old is the Nerazzurri’s third goalkeeping signing of the transfer window, after Yann Sommer and Raffaele Di Gennaro.

Audero will likely be Inter’s backup keeper over the coming season. Sommer is the player who is widely expected to be the replacement for Andre Onana as the first-choice option in goal.

However, that does not mean that Audero won’t get his opportunities.

The Italian showed over the past five seasons with Sampdoria that he is a highly capable option at the Serie A level.

Therefore, Audero will certainly do his part to push Sommer for the starting spot over the coming season.

And, SportItalia report, the 26-year-old will get his first opportunity to show off in an Inter shirt this evening.

Emil Audero To Make Inter Milan Debut In Friendly Vs Egnatia

Inter’s final friendly match of the preseason period comes against Albanian team Egnatia.

The Nerazzurri will have one more opportunity to sharpen up their fitness and tactical cohesion in a match setting before they begin their Serie A campaign against Monza next Saturday.

Moreover, like previous friendlies the match will give Inter coach Simone Inzaghi the opportunity to bed in some new signings.

This will include Audero.

The Nerazzurri will already have a good idea of the player they’ve gotten based on Audero’s time at Sampdoria.

However, the 26-year-old will still need to get used to playing behind a new set of teammates.

Therefore, Audero will take the next week to really become an Inter player, and not just officially.

According to SportItalia, fans can expect to get their first sight of Audero in an Inter shirt this evening.
