Inter Milan are on the verge of welcoming back Alexis Sanchez who will replace Joaquin Correa.

The Chilean will be the final piece in Simone Inzaghi’s attacking jigsaw. The management has already brought in Marcus Thuram and Marko Arnautovic. The two strikers are now contending for a starting spot alongside club captain Lautaro Martinez.

Meanwhile, Correa has been on the shelf, with his former Lazio boss Inzaghi no longer eager to rely upon his services.

The 29-year-old should soon complete a switch to Olympique Marseille, subsequently making room for Sanchez.

Ironically, the Chilean has just ended a collaboration with the same club. He joined OM last summer as a free agent.

But despite an excellent campaign in Ligue 1, the two parties split at the end of last season. Alexis has been unattached ever since, awaiting a return to Appiano Gentile.

Free Agent Alexis Sanchez Will Sign A Two-Contract Contract With Inter Milan

According to La Repubblica via FcInterNews, Sanchez will now sign for Inter as a free agent, penning a two-year contract.

For his part, Inzaghi will be happy to embrace his former striker who famously gifted him his first trophy at Inter.

The 34-year-old scored the last-gasp winner against Juventus in the Italian Super Cup final in January 2022.

Sanchez enjoyed a storied career on European soil. He made his bones at Udinese before representing Barcelona, Arsenal and Manchester United.

The Chile legend spent three campaign at Inter between 2019 and 2022.
