Inter Milan are on the verge of finalizing their attacking department by sending Joaquin Correa to Olympique Marseille and bringing back Alexis Sanchez.

The Nerazzurri have already revamped their frontline, replacing Edin Dzeko and Romelu Lukaku with Marcus Thuram and Marko Arnautovic.

Yet, the Nerazzurri are still planning to pull off one final maneuver. Sadly for Correa, he hasn’t been able to deliver the goods since he arrived at the club in 2021. He has been serving as a mere backup for his compatriot Lautaro Martinez.

But luckily for Inter, they managed to find the 29-year-old a suitor in the shape of OM.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport via FcInterNews, Correa will join Marseille on an expensive loan deal. The French club will have the option to buy him for 15 million euros. The purchase could also become obligatory on certain conditions.

The source adds that OM could also save 2 or 3 million from the total cost, getting a discount in case the obligation clause was activated.

Inter Milan Will Send Joaquin Correa To Marseille And Subsequently Make Room For Alexis Sanchez

As the report explains, Inter have already been sending signals to the player, letting him know that he no longer has a place at the club. For instance, Simone Inzaghi kept him on the bench during the 2-0 win over Monza in the Serie A opener.

So with Correa out of the club, Inter will finally make room for Sanchez. They will welcome back the Chilean who served the club’s cause between 2019 and 2022.

The former Arsenal and Barcelona star left the club last summer to join Marseille, but his stint in Southern France only lasted for a year. He has been unattached and awaiting an Inter return for weeks now.

Therefore, this is almost an indirect swap between Sanchez and Correa who have effectively traded clubs.
