Cagliari coach Claudio Ranieri is hoping that his Rossoblu team can cause problems for Inter Milan on Monday.

Speaking in a press conference ahead of the Serie A match at the Sardegna Arena, as reported by FCInterNews, the coach praised the Nerazzurri for reaching last season’s Champions League final, but was also confident that his team can still have their say.

Inter and Cagliari will each have reasons to be confident headed into Monday’s match in Sardinia.

In the case of the Nerazzurri, they already have momentum after dispatching Monza 2-0 in their opening match of the season.

And the Rossoblu earned a gritty 0-0 draw away to Torino in their first match back in the top flight. Ranieri’s men certainly showed that they can go and get a result against strong teams on paper.

And on Monday, Cagliari will be playing in front of their own fans. Meanwhile, Inter will venture away from the San Siro for the first time in the campaign.

Cagliari Coach Ranieri Looks Ahead To Serie A Clash Vs Inter Milan

“We’re coming up against a team who reached the Champions League final,” Ranieri noted. “One of the best teams in Italy.”

“It will be a tough match, but we’re looking forward to it. As always, we’ll have a go.”

“We’re ready,” Ranieri made clear. “Every coach studies his opposition. This is not a question of David versus Gollaith.”

“We know what we’re up against. Inter have lost just two of their last fourteen matches, and we know what that means.”

“We just have to approach this match as one group of players up against another,” Ranieri continued.

“They can count on the individual quality of some top-class players,” he noted. “We can play a good match, but then one moment from one of their best players can unlock it.”

“Inter are good at everything, they lead the league in crosses, they’re a team that know how to attack, counterattack.”

Ranieri called Inter “A perfect team. Otherwise they couldn’t have reached the Champions League final.”
