Bayern Munich Consider Late Swoop For AC Milan Star To Replace Inter Milan Target

Bayern Munich are considering a move for AC Milan defender Pierre Kalulu as a replacement for Inter Milan target Benjamin Pavard.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.

Time is increasingly of the essence in Inter’s pursuit of Pavard.

For a week, the Nerazzurri have seemingly had an agreement with Bayern on the transfer of the 27-year-old former Stuttgart defender.

Reports suggest that the two clubs have agreed a fee of €30 million plus €2 million in add-ons.

Meanwhile, for his part the player could hardly make his intentions more clearer. Pavard wants to join the Nerazzurri, and has been absent from Bayern training in recent days as he aims to force the move through.

The problem for Inter, and for Pavard, is simple. The closing of the summer transfer window is now only a few days away.

Bayern have yet to green light the move.

And the reason for this appears to largely be the fact that the Germans haven’t yet signed a replacement.

Their coach Thomas Tuchel doesn’t want to lose an important player in his backline unless he is sure that a like-for-like replacement will also arrive.

Bayern Munich Could Move For Milan’s Kalulu To Replace Inter Target Pavard

Bayern have seemingly looked at a few possibilities to replace Pavard.

Chelsea defender and long-time Inter target Trevoh Chalobah appears to be high on the German champions’ list.

Meanwhile, they are reportedly also tracking Southampton’s Armel Bella-Kotchap and Feyenoord’s Lutsharel Geertruida.

However, Sky reports, Bayern are also considering a player who already plays in Milano – albeit not for the Nerazzurri.

Rather, the Bavarians are looking at a player currently at Inter’s city rivals Milan.

According to Sky, Bayern would consider versatile defender Kalulu an option. Like Pavard, the 23-year-old former Lyon can play either in central defense or as a right-back.

Reportedly, Bayern want to try and sign Kalulu on loan with a purchase option.

And for their part, the Rossoneri would only want to sell the Frenchman on a permanent deal.
