Inter Milan have decided on a precise deadline for the signing of defender Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908, who report that the Nerazzurri have decided that they will wait until 15.00 CET tomorrow afternoon, at which point if they cannot wrap up the deal they will move for a different defender.

Time is of the essence in Inter’s pursuit of Bayern defender Pavard.

The Nerazzurri have had an agreement with Bayern on a fee for the Frenchman in hand for a week.

However, so far, the Bavarians have not given the final go-ahead for the move to go through.

The player concerned has made his feelings clear – Pavard went on a “strike” as he missed several days of training for Bayern. However, the 27-year-old is now back in training today after missing Bayern’s match against Augsburg yesterday.

And a lot seems to be dependent on the fate of Bayern’s search for a defender to replace Samardzic.

The German champions appear to be willing to sell Pavard to Inter. But only if they sign a suitable replacement.

Inter Milan Set Afternoon Deadline To Sign Benjamin Pavard

So far Inter have been patient and waited for the green light to arrive from Bayern.

However, the transfer deadline is now looming. The Nerazzurri can feel the clock ticking.

Obviously, Inter will not want to get to the last couple of the days of the window without having either signed Pavard or signed a different defender.

A replacement for Milan Skriniar on the right side of defense is a priority for Inter this summer.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri have decided on a deadline.

Sky reports that Inter will wait until 15.00 CET tomorrow afternoon. If that time passes and they have not gotten the go-ahead to complete the signing of Pavard, then the Nerazzurri will change their strategy.

In the meantime, the likes of Torino’s Perr Schuurs, Atalanta’s Giorgio Scalvini, and Tottenham Hotspur’s Japhet Tanganga are reportedly among Inter’s backup targets.
