Inter Milan are in talks to sign Leicester City’s Boubakary Soumare or Sassuolo’s Maxime Lopez.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported in a tweet that the Nerazzurri are still working to potentially reinforce in midfield, and that the two young French players are on their radar.

Inter have already made eleven signings this summer, counting the imminent arrival of Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich.

But the 27-year-old may not be the last player the Nerazzurri make.

Nor may he be the final French player to join before the summer transfer window slams shut.

According to Di Marzio, even now with just a couple of days to go before the summer transfer window closes, Inter are working on reinforcing in midfield.

The failure of their attempt to sign Lazar Samardzic has left the Nerazzurri with a hole to fill in midfield.

It has looked as though Stefano Sensi would be the player to fill it. The 28-year-old could, for all intents and purposes, take the spot of Roberto Gagliardini. But according to Di Marzio, Inter are still working on possibly making a new signing.

Inter Inquire About Leicester Midfielder Soumare – Sassuolo’s Lopez Also A Target

According to Di Marzio, Inter have inquired with Leicester about Soumare.

The former Lille midfielder looks likely to leave this summer. With the Foxes having dropped down to the Championship, he will hope to play top flight football this season.

Therefore, Di Marzio reports, Inter have made contact with Soumare’s club. They want to see whether a move is possible.

Inter have been linked with a move for Soumare in the past.

Meanwhile, Di Marzio also reports that Inte are in talks to potentially sign Sassuolo midfielder Lopez.

The 25-year-old reportedly wants to leave the Neroverdi this summer. Therefore, he could represent a last-minute opportunity for Inter to bolster their midfield ranks.
