Inter Milan are reportedly weighing up a move for Leicester’s Boubakary Soumare as an alternative to Tanguy Ndombele.

As we reported this morning, the Nerazzurri are looking to round off their busy transfer session with a double swoop in midfield.

The Beneamata could sign both Maxime Lopez and Ndombele. The first is a deep-lying playmaker who can serve as a backup for Hakan Calhanoglu.

On the other hand, Ndombele is a midfield powerhouse who can add some muscle to Simone Inzaghi’s midfield department.

The 26-year-old spent the previous campaign on loan at Napoli before returning to Tottenham. He now finds himself an exile in North London.

According to Il Corriere della Serra via FcInterNews, Inter have identified Soumare as a fallback option if they fail to secure Ndombele’s services.

The 24-year-old is a youth product of Paris Saint-Germain. He signed for Lille in 2017 and made a name for himself.

Inter Milan Are Considering Leicester Midfielder Boubakary Soumare As An Alternative To Spurs Outcast Tanguy Ndombele

In 2021, he earned a switch to Leicester City. But as we all know, the Foxes suffered relegation from the Premier League to the English Championship at the end of a disappointing 2022/23 season.

Therefore, the former France U21 starlet could be eager to leave the club and would jump at the opportunity to join the Nerazzurri.

But as the source explains, Ndombele remains the main target for Inter, while his compatriot Soumare is a mere backup.
