Inter Milan have reportedly started talks with Ajax over the possible transfer of Davy Klaassen.

The Nerazzurri are still looking to make one additional signing to wrap up an extremely busy summer transfer session.

The management would like to bolster Simone Inzaghi’s midfield by adding a player with different characteristics. Inter CEO Beppe Marotta confirmed as much on Thursday.

In this regard, the potential arrival of Klaassen is gaining steam.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, talks between Inter and Ajax are now underway for the Dutchman’s transfer.

The Nerazzurri are hoping that the Amsterdam-based club agrees to release the player from his contract which will expire at the end of the season. This would allow the Italian giants to sign the 30-year-old on a free transfer.

On the other hand, the source names two profiles as alternatives for Klaassen. The first is his compatriot Donny van de Beek.

The 26-year-old has been enduring torrid times since making the move from Ajax to Manchester United in 2020. The source says the midfielder has been proposed to the Nerazzurri.

The second alternative is Tanguy Ndombele. The Frenchman is currently a misfit at Tottenham Hotspur as he’s out of the club’s technical project.

News reports have been linking the former Napoli man with a switch to Inter over the last couple of days.

One of the sources even claimed that Nerazzurri manager has personally requested the arrival of Ndombele.

With less than 24 hours separating us from the closure of the Italian transfer session, we won’t have to wait too long to find out whether the club will succeed in poaching one more summer signing.
