Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram and defender Benjamin Pavard both start on the bench for France against Ireland this evening.

Les Bleus coach Didier Deschamps has left both of the pair out of the starting eleven for this evening’s EURO 2024 qualifying clash.

This summer, Inter signed two French international players.

Prior to the transfer window, there were no French players in the Nerazzurri’s side, but they have included two high-profile names among their summer reinforcements.

Striker Thuram arrived on a free transfer after his contract with Borussia Monchengladbach expired.

And defender Benjamin Pavard was the player the Nerazzurri brought in to replace Milan Skriniar. The 27-year-old made the switch from Bayern Munich in a big money move.

Inter Duo Thuram & Pavard Settle For A Place On The Bench For France Vs Ireland

France are aiming to keep their perfect start to their EURO 2024 qualifying campaign going.

So far, Les Bleus have taken twelve points from twelve in their bid to reach the tournament.

They host Ireland in a qualifying match this evening.

France coach Deschamps has started some players who will be familiar to Inter. Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot is in the French starting eleven.

Meanwhile, three AC Milan players start for Les Bleus. Goalkeeper Mike Maignan, Defender Theo Hernandez, and striker Olivier Giroud are all in the lineup.

However, in defense, Deschamps has opted for Dayot Upamecano, Lucas Hernandez, and Jules Kounde over Pavard.

And in attack, the trio of Ousmane Dembele, Antoine Griezmann, and Kylian Mbappe support Giroud. Therefore, Thuram does not start.

Both Inter players could potentially come on as substitutes during the match, however.

Thuram has gotten off to a flying start at Inter. The Frenchman has already notched a goal and an assist to cap off some fine early displays in Serie A.

Meanwhile, Pavard has yet to feature in an Inter shirt.

The 27-year-old only joined from Bayern just before the transfer deadline.
