France international striker Marcus Thuram is expected back in Inter Milan training on Wednesday.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. Thuram will be back to work with Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi a few days before the Milan derby next weekend.

Thuram is currently on international duty with France.

The 26-year-old Inter striker did not start for Les Bleus in their 2-0 EURO 2024 qualifying win over Ireland.

However, Thuram came off the bench in that match. He came off the bench to score his team’s second goal to wrap up the win.

That came just a few days after Thuram had scored his first ever goal for Inter.

The sense is that the Frenchman is now a player hitting a rich vein of form. After having spent all preseason settling in to life in a Nerazzurri shirt, Thuram is looking more and more clinical and self-assured.

Marcus Thuram Back In Inter Milan Training In Midweek

According to the Corriere, Thuram will stay with the French camp until their friendly match against Germany on Tuesday.

After that, it will not be long before the 26-year-old is released to go and work with his club side.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will certainly welcome Thuram’s return. The former Borussia Monchengladbach and Guingamp has already become a vital player for the Nerazzurri this season.

Out of all Inter’s summer signings, Thuram is arguably the one to make the most immediate impact in the starting eleven.

Therefore, there is little doubt that Thuram will be in the starting eleven for the Milan derby next Saturday.

As such, Inzaghi will want time for the Frenchman to both rest and also do tactical preparations. The coach is reportedly working on specialized sessions with Thuram to sharpen up his goalscoring instincts.

Thuram will be back on Wednesday for Inzaghi to get him at his best for the derby.
