Inter Milan are hoping that wingback Juan Cuadrado can be rested in Colombia’s World Cup qualifier against Chile tomorrow.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri want the 35-year-old to play no part in tomorrow’s match.

At the moment, Cuadrado is with the Colombian national team.

The 35-year-old had had to come off at halftime of the team’s World Cup qualifier against Venezuela last week. The reason was a muscular problem in his leg.

However, the Gazzetta report, Inter do not believe the problem is at all serious.

The Nerazzurri’s medical staff have been in contact with those in the Colombian camp. They are confident that Cuadrado can recover quickly.

However, the question could be whether or not Cuadrado will play any part in Colombia’s next match.

Tomorrow evening, Colombia face Chile in their second and final World Cup qualifier of the international break.

Inter Milan Hope Juan Cuadrado Won’t Feature In Colombia Chile Clash

According to Sky, Inter are very much hoping that Cuadrado won’t be in the squad for that match due to his injury.

The Nerazzurri are aiming to have the former Juventus and Chelsea back in the right condition for the Milan derby over the weekend.

Inter are already well aware of the fact that the South American internationals are returning late. Both captain Lautaro Martinez and Chilean forward Alexis Sanchez are back on Saturday.

The same is true of Cuadrado.

The Colombian will be returning on Thursday along with Martinez and Sanchez.

However, Cuadrado could be in condition to make an appearance against AC Milan over the weekend.

Denzel Dumfries is back in training today after finishing up with international duty with the Netherlands. The 27-year-old started in each of Inter’s three matches in Serie A so far.

But Cuadrado could still play a role against Milan.
