Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram feels that his teammate Lautaro Martinez is one of the best players in the world, and ideal to learn from.

Speaking to InterTV after this evening’s 5-1 win over AC Milan in the derby, via FCInterNews, the Frenchman also praised the San Siro atmosphere.

Against Milan this evening, it was Thuram who got on the scoresheet rather than Martinez.

The Argentine had scored in each of Inter’s first three matches of the season, bagging a whopping five goals.

But against the Rossoneri, Martinez failed to score. Instead, it was Thuram who found the back of the net with a stunning long-range effort for the Nerazzurri’s second goal of the match.

However, Martinez did just about everything else to show why he has become Inter captain.

The 26-year-old was integral in setting up a couple of goals, whilst he also won the penalty from which Inter scored their fourth goal.

Thuram and Martinez are already starting to strike up a lethal pairing. And for his part, the Frenchman is all too happy to have the chance to learn from his new strike partner, whether it’s goalscoring or other aspects of the game.

Inter Striker Marcus Thuram: Lautaro Martinez One Of The Best In The World

Thuram argued that “Lautaro is a great striker, he’s one of the best in the world.”

“I’m learning a lot by playing alongside him,” the 26-year-old said of his new teammate.

“Now we have a very difficult match in the Champions League on the way. We have to stay focused, and we hope to win.”

Thuram also gave the view that “The San Siro is exceptional. The support from the fans is incredible.”

The Frenchman said that “I work every day so that I can become a little bit better.”

Thuram joined Inter on a free transfer from Borussia Monchengladbach during the summer transfer window.

And early indications are that the 26-year-old has been a shrewd acquisition indeed for the Nerazzurri.
