Former Nerazzurri midfielder Stephane Dalmat feels that the current Inter Milan squad is “perfect.”

Speaking on his Instagram account, via FCInterNews, the Frenchman also expressed optimism ahead of the Nerazzurri’s Champions League group stage opener away to Real Sociedad, even if it will not be an easy match.

Inter are now just a few hours away from beginning their Champions League group stage campaign.

The Nerazzurri face Real Sociedad away for their first match of the season in Europe’s top club competition.

Last season Inter reached the Champions League final. So the expectations could hardly be higher.

Last time around, the Nerazzurri dispatched Barcelona and Viktoria Plzen in the group stage.

Then, in the knockouts, Inter eliminated Porto, Benfica, and AC Milan.

The Nerazzurri fell to Premier League giants Manchester City in the final. But it was a narrow 0-1 defeat, and Inter’s performance suggested that there was not as much of a gap between the two teams as many expected their would be.

Over the summer, Inter made big changes in the transfer market.

And now, the Nerazzurri are just hours away from putting their new squad to the test in the Champions League.

Stephane Dalmat: Inter Squad “Perfect”, “Optimistic” Ahead Of Real Sociedad Clash

“I’m sure everyone still has the derby win in their heads,” Dalmat said.

“But they’re professionals, and they know that today is another match.”

“It’s another competitionn, one in which we did well last season,” Dalmat noted.

The former midfielder predicted that “It will be a tricky match. Real Sociedad finished last season in fourth, they play good football, with a lot of possession.”

“At their home in particular, it’ll be tough,” Dalmat predicted. “But if Inter are focused and defend well, they can cause problems with their quick and vertical counterattacks.”

Dalmat continued that “I’m optimistic.”

“The squad we have this season is perfect,” the Frenchman said.

“You can’t see much difference between the starters and the backup options.”

“There’s confidence, it will be important to go out and get all three points.”
