Inter Milan are close to agreeing a commercial partnership with Qatar Airways, with a possible opportunity for a future main shirt sponsor.

This according to Italian news outlet Gazzetta.it, who report that the Qatari airline will become the Nerazzurri’s official air carrier soon.

The last couple of years have seen significant activity in the commercial sphere for Inter.

The Nerazzurri have extended their longstanding partnership with kit manufacturer Nike until the end of June 2032.

And there have been several shirt sponsors.

The front of Inter’s matchday shirt has been in a degree of flux since the end of their partnership with tire manufacturer Pirelli at the end of the 2020-21 season.

The Nerazzurri have had different shirt sponsors in each of the past three seasons.

In the 2021-22 season, Inter’s matchday shirt brandished the logo of “fan token” company Socios.com.

Then in the 2022-23 season, DigitalBits replaced Socios. That partnership was nothing short of a disaster for the Nerazzurri however.

Economic turmoil within the cryptocurrency meant that they were unable to pay any of the money they owed Inter on the partnership. The same was true of their deal with the Nerazzurri’s Serie A rivals with Roma.

And this season, Paramount+ took the place of DigitalBits. The streaming service had also sponsored Inter’s shirt in the final two matches of last season including the Champions League final.

Inter Milan Close To Agreeing Commercial Deal With Qatar Airways

There have also been deals with eBay and U-Power. They are Inter’s sleeve sponsor and back shirt sponsor respectively.

But there are still questions about the future of the front of the Nerazzurri’s shirt.

Inter only agreed a one-year deal with Paramount+.

Therefore, the club and the US-based streaming service will have to renegotiate if they’re to continue the partnership beyond the end of the current season.

If those negotiations do not result in an agreement, Inter will once again begin their search.

And Qatar Airways could be a viable option on the horizon.

Reportedly, the Nerazzurri were already in negotiations with the company as a possible replacement for DigitalBits. Those talks did not result in an agreement.

But now, Inter will agree a deal with Qatar Airways to become their official air carrier, the Gazzetta reports.

Therefore, the company would be very much in the frame if Inter don’t continue on with Paramount+.
