The municipality of Milano has determined the amount to credit Inter Milan and AC Milan for maintenance costs of the San Siro.

This according to Italian news outlet Calcio e Finanza. The outlet report that the municipality will remove a total of €6,079,938.68 from the rental costs on the stadium.

The big story surrounding the San Siro currently concerns the fact that Inter and Milan may not be staying in the stadium for long.

At the moment, both clubs are currently heavily leaning in the direction of building new, separate stadiums elsewhere.

The Rossoneri have chosen the San Donato area. And the Nerazzurri have taken major steps towards building in the Rozzano commune.

That does not mean that the city of Milano have entirely given up on keeping the two clubs within the city limits, somehow finding a way to return to plans for at least one of the clubs to remain within the San Siro area.

But as long as the clubs cannot demolish the existing stadium, that would seem very unlikely indeed.

However, Inter and Milan are still playing at the San Siro. And they are still renting the stadium from the municipality.

The agreement runs until 2030. However, the clubs could pull out of it two years earlier, in 2028.

Municipality Determines Maintenance Deductions For Inter & AC Milan For San Siro

In the meantime, however, Inter and Milan continue to rent the San Siro from the municipality.

And as part of their agreement, the clubs can be credited for exceptional maintenance work they do on the stadium.

The municipality, Calcio e Finanza reports, have determined exactly what that amount will be for this year.

The total deduction will be €6,079,938.68.

This will be split evenly between the two clubs.

Therefore, both of Inter and Milan will get a credit of €3,039,069.34 on their rental payment.
