Young Inter Milan owned goalkeeper Gabriel Brazao is likely to remain on loan at Ternana despite a complete lack of playing time this season.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews.

During the summer transfer window, goalkeeper Brazao joined Serie B side Ternana on loan.

This is not the first time that the Brazilian has gone out on loan since joining Inter in 2019.

Far from it, Brazao has gone out on a number of loan spells.

There have been loan moves to Spanish duo Albacete and Real Oviedo. Both were in the Segunda Division, in the 2019-20 and 2020-21 seasons respectively.

Then Brazao went back to his boyhood club Cruzeiro on another loan.

However, a serious knee injury cut that loan move short.

Therefore Brazao spent the first half of last season recovering from injury.

Then when fit, the young keeper joined SPAL in Serie B on loan. There he found playing time relatively hard to come by, but did make one league appearance.

Inter Owned Keeper Gabriel Brazao To Remain At Ternana On Loan

One of the primary objectives for a player in Brazao’s position is of course playing time.

The 23-year-old is still young, particularly for a goalkeeper.

And between injuries and other factors, Brazao has not been able to get on the pitch much so far.

Therefore, Inter and Brazao will be disappointed with how things have worked out for the Brazilian keeper so far during his loan spell with Ternana.

So far, the 23-year-old has not played a single minute in all competitions.

Number One Antony Iannarilli has remained absolutely first-choice.

The 32-year-old joined the Umbrian team in 2018. And he has made almost two hundred appearances since then.

Therefore, displacing Iannarilli has proven difficult for Brazao to break into the starting eleven.

But according to FCIN, the plan is still for the Brazilian to stay where he is.

The feeling is that it’s still a long season and the opportunities will come.

There is no plan for Brazao to join a different club on loan during the January transfer window.

However, that could of course change in the next few weeks before the window opens. Particularly if the 23-year-old continues to not receive minutes where he is.
