Inter Milan midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has won praise for another solid performance and perfect penalty in yesterday’s Serie A win over Frosinone.

The player ratings for the match were all very positive regarding the Turk’s display, L’Interista highlight.

Calhanoglu’s role in the Inter team is one that requires a lot of consistency.

The 29-year-old cannot just impact matches in a few decisive moments.

Rather, it is Calhanoglu’s job to control the tempo and dynamic of a match, virtually from start to finish.

And that is what the former AC Milan and Bayer Leverkusen midfielder did yesterday against Frosinone. At least until he exited the pitch for Stefano Sensi late on.

It was not as easy a match as Frosinone’s status as a newly-promoted team might suggest.

The Giallazzurri had switched to a 3-4-3 shape in order to counteract Inter’s buildup, and press very aggressively up the pitch.

But Calhanoglu was hardly phased by this. The 29-year-old was the player who made himself available for his teammates, virtually at all times.

Calhanoglu drifted around at times, but was always the anchor of the midfield.

Hakan Calhanoglu Praised For Display In Inter Win Vs Frosinone

So once again, Calhanoglu was Inter’s heartbeat.

This caps off an excellent run of performances that started in the Nerazzurri’s win over Torino just back from the October international break.

And then the Turk also showed one of his other attributes that has made him a key man for Inter.

Calhanoglu has been Inter’s first-choice penalty-taker more or less since his arrival.

Few players in Serie A can boast the 29-year-old’s accuracy from the spot.

Calhanoglu has scored every single penalty that he has taken in an Inter shirt.

So when Marcus Thuram won a penalty early in the first half, it was little surprise to see Calhanoglu step up to the spot to take it.

And the outcome was equally certain. Calhanoglu;s effort had the power and accuracy needed to beat Frosinone goalkeeper Stefano Turati.

Just the way to cap off another good day at the office for Calhanoglu.
