A report in the Italian press reveals why Inter Milan may have the advantage over Juventus in the race to sign Andrea Colpani.

The 24-year-old has improved his game by leaps and bounds since the start of the season. He has already bagged six goals and an assist in 13 Serie A appearances.

The attacking midfielder earned his maiden call-up for the Italy national team. However, Luciano Spalletti is yet to grant him his international debut.

According to Tuttosport via FcInter1908, the battle for the Monza star is one of several Derby d’Italia clashes on the transfer market.

The two eternal rivals are monitoring several common targets. The list also includes Khephran Thuram and Piotr Zielinski.

As for Colpani, Juventus will take the opportunity to scout him up close and personal when they take on the Biancorossi at the U-Power Stadium on Friday night.

But as the source tells it, Inter could have a significant advantage in the race thanks to the identity of the player’s agent.

Tullio Tinti, who acts as Colpani’s agent, also represents Inter coach Simone Inzaghi as well as Nerazzurri defender Alessandro Bastoni.

The report adds that the latter is a close friend of the Monza midfielder. Bastoni and Colpani rose together through the ranks at Atalanta and still share a solid bond.

The source believes these small details could make a significant difference.

Colpani joined Monza in 2020 on loan before making a permanent switch in 2022. His contract with the Brianza club runs until 2028.
