Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi has decided to start Lautaro Martinez in attack and Benjamin Pavard in defense against Hellas Verona. This afternoon’s Serie A clash is scheduled for 12.30 CET.

Inzaghi has made two changes to the starting eleven that faced Genoa last weekend.

Captain Lautaro Martinez returns to the team. The Argentine takes the places of Marko Arnautovic starting alongside Marcus Thuram in attack.

Martinez had been absent for the last couple matches through injury. However, the 26-year-old is once again fit. Therefore, he starts.

Then, another player who returns to the starting eleven is Pavard.

Yann Bisseck has gotten the nod over the ex-Bayern Munich man recently. But Inzaghi has gone for Pavard this time around.

In goal, it is another former Bayern player who joined Inter during the summer – Yann Sommer. The Swiss has played every minute of league action for the Nerazzurri so far this season.

Next, in front of the 35-year-old, the trio of Pavard, Francesco Acerbi, and Alessandro Bastoni starts.

Then in midfield, the trio of Nicolo Barella, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan starts. That is in fact the trio which has been first-choice since the start of the season.

Lautaro Martinez Back In Attack

Fourthly, on the flanks, Denzel Dumfries and Carlos Augusto start.

Left-wingback Federico Dimarco is back from injury. However, the Italian international is only fit enough to start on the bench.

Lastly, in attack it is French international Thuram who starts alongside Inter’s captain Martinez.

Meanwhile, there is only one injury absence in Inter’s squad – wingback Juan Cuadrado.

The former Juventus veteran will be out for several months recovering from surgery on his Achilles tendon.

But Cuadrado is not the only absence in Inter’s matchday squad.

Canadian international wingback Tajon Buchanan completed his move to Inter from Club Brugge yesterday. However, the transfer was too late for Buchanan to feature this evening.
