Inter Milan have rejected an offer from West Ham worth €11 million for attacking midfielder Valentin Carboni.

This according to Italian news outlet TuttoMercatoWeb.

Teenage attacking midfielder Carboni has only been playing around a half a season of regular senior football.

The Argentine international had spent last season as part of Inter’s senior team.

However, he found appearances hard to come by with the Nerazzurri. Naturally, the competition and expectations were high.

Therefore, Inter sent Carboni out on loan for the current season.

The teenager joined Monza last summer.

The Brianzoli signed Carboni on a season-long loan deal. And it is just a one-year dry loan, with no purchase option on the part of the Lombard club.

Inter wanted Carboni to gain experience and playing time to find his feet in the senior game.

However, the Nerazzurri had absolutely no intention of losing control of Carboni on a long-term basis.

Reports even suggest that Inter see Carboni as part of their own first-team project in the near future. Potentially even as soon as next season.

Inter Reject West Ham United Offer To Valentin Carboni

However, a Premier League club has already tried to test Inter’s resolve regarding Carboni.

According to TMW, West Ham have been observing Carboni during his time with Monza.

And the East London club have made Inter an offer. They have put forward a bid of €11 million to sign Carboni on a permanent basis, according to TMW.

However, the outlet reports, the Nerazzurri have rejected the Hammers’ bid out of hand.

Inter have absolutely no intention of selling Carboni at this stage, and certainly not for an offer of that size.

Having initially seen Carboni struggle for playing time at Monza, the Argentine is now a fixture in the starting eleven under Raffaele Palladino.

And Inter’s plan remains very much to give the teenager a chance in their first team and not simply to sell him on.
