Inter Milan midfielder Stefano Sensi is just waiting on the green light on a move to join Leicester City in the Championship.

SportItalia transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla reports on his homepage that everything is in place, and the clubs just need to finalize everything.

Leicester have been after Sensi throughout the January transfer window.

The Foxes’ coach Enzeo Maresca is a fan of the 28-year-old Italian international.

Maresca pushing for Sensi has been a key factor in the transfer happening.

The Italian former coach, formerly an assistant to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, was also decisive in convincing the player himself on the move.

Moreover, the Leicester coach has also gotten Leicester to send former Inter midfielder Cesare Casadei back to Chelsea from his loan spell.

That has been in order to make room for Sensi.

But as of yet, the two clubs have not yet worked out a deal conclusively.

And Inter have been preoccupied with their commitments in the Supercoppa Italiana during the past week or so.

Therefore, negotiations had just been put on hold for a bit whilst Inter and Sensi were in Saudi Arabia.

Not any longer, however. Now, Inter, Leicester, and Sensi are ready to get the deal over the line.

Inter Midfielder Stefano Sensi Waiting For Green Light To Join Leicester

According to Pedulla, everything is in place.

Now, Sensi is just waiting for the two clubs to give the green light.

The former Sassuolo, Monza, and Sampdoria midfielder is fully convinced by Maresca and by the Leicester project.

So the Italian should be able to fly to England soon.

There, Sensi will be able to undergo his medicals, and then sign his contract to become a new Leicester player.

That would bring two an end a four-and-a-half year spell at Inter, having joined in 2019.
