Italian journalist Sandro Sabatini feels that Inter Milan’s Yann Bisseck is superior to AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw.

The journalist made the comparison whilst speaking on Italian broadcaster SportMediaset, via FCInter1908.

In many respects, Bisseck and Thiaw are players with similar stories.

Both are German youth team internationals to have made appearances for the Under-21 side. Thiaw has earned three caps for Die Mannschaft at senior level, whilst Bisseck is as of yet uncapped.

Both of the pair made big transfers to Milan clubs in recent years.

Thiaw joined the Rossoneri in the summer of 2022. Meanwhile, Bisseck completed his transfer to the Nerazzurri last summer.

The talent of both young Germans is undeniable. But at the same time, the pressure and expectations playing at clubs like Milan and Inter is high.

Thiaw has had a big role to play for the Rossoneri’s senior team.

And yesterday, the 22-year-old suffered the negative side of playing for such a high-profile club.

On his return from injury, Thiaw put in an error-stewn performance that saw him highly culpable as his team lost 4-2 to Monza.

Meanwhile, Bisseck has not started all that many matches for Inter. However, when he has been handed opportunities, the 23-year-old has shown that he is up to the task.

Trevisani: Yann Bisseck Superior To Malick Thiaw

Trevisani’s colleague Fabrizio Biasin noted that “In the summer, you said that Inter’s squad was only good enough for fifth place.”

“You said that Bisseck needed to go out on loan,” he continued.

Trevisani retorted, “Why does it annoy you if I say that Bisseck is better than Thiaw?”

“What’s so wrong with that?” he posed.

And Biasin replied, “Well because it’s easy to say that now.”

“It’s easy to say now that every Inter player is better,” the journalist said.

“But in the summer, you were saying something very different.”
