Nerazzurri captain Lautaro Martinez feels that there is always room for Inter Milan to make further improvements.

The Argentine spoke to InterTV, via FCInterNews, after the team’s 4-0 Serie A win over Lecce.

Inter have made it ten wins from ten in 2024.

The Nerazzurri got yet another clean sheet in Serie A. And captain Martinez scored his hundredth and 101st goals in the Italian top flight.

Inter are nine points clear of Juventus at the top of the league table – with a game in hand.

And the Nerazzurri are on track to reach the quarterfinals of the Champions League, a competition where they got as far as the final last season.

On paper, it is hard to see what improvements could make.

But Martinez does not want the team to be satisfied or rest on their laurels.

Lautaro Martinez: Inter Milan Can Always Improve

Martinez said that “There are always things for us to improve.”

Of the win over Lecce, the Argentine said that “In the first half we struggled a lot with a team that tried to press us high up the pitch, man-to-man.”

“We have to be cleaner in possession,” the Inter captain said.

“But I’m happy that we were able to win,” Martinez said. “Because winning always helps you to win more.”

“It was the same thing that had happened when we faced Atletico,” the Argentine said.

“When they pressed us high, we struggled to build up from the back.”

“Then at halftime, we looked at it with the coach and saw a couple of things to do differently.”

“In the second half we took to the pitch with a couple of different options. And this helped us to play our game in possession.”

“I think that we work brilliantly in training during the week,” Martinez said. “And then we try to show it on the pitch.”

“Other than the first few minutes of the first half, we had a great match and a great win.”
