Canadian international Tajon Buchanan considers playing for Inter Milan to be a “dream come true.”

Buchanan spoke about what having joined the Nerazzurri means to him in the official matchday programme for this evening’s Serie A match against Genoa.

Buchanan wrote his name in history by becoming the first Canadian to play not just for Inter, but for any team in Serie A, when he made his debut for Nerazzurri.

The 25-year-old joined Inter from Club Brugge during the January transfer window.

Inter signed Buchanan as a long-term solution in the wing-back position. He had been a player they’d earmarked for some time.

Buchanan has not become a regular fixture in the Inter starting eleven by any means.

On the contrary, the Canadian international has spent some time settling in.

But there is plenty of optimism and expectation regarding the future that Buchanan has at Inter.

And this would be a tremendous personal vindication for Buchanan. The 25-year-old is now really starting to reach the highest level after years of hard work and growth.

Tajon Buchanan: “Dream Come True” To Play For Inter Milan

Buchanan commented that “There have been several important moments in my career.”

“From my debut in the Champions League against Atletico Madrid while I was at Brugge, to my first match at the World Cup with Canada.”

He called playing at the World Cup “A dream come true.”

“I always try to remember why I’ve loved the sport since I was a child and have fun on the pitch,” Buchanan said.

The Canadian noted that “Playing football professionally is something I’ve always wanted to do. And I’m very grateful and proud.”

Buchanan went on that “Wearing this shirt means a lot. It’s a dream come true, what I’ve always worked for.”

“There have been a number of legendary players in the history of this club,” the 25-year-old continued.

“For me the number one is Ronaldo,” Buchanan said. “He’s a player I’ve always admired and a football legend.”
