Inter Milan loanee Mattia Zanotti discusses some of his senior teammates while reserving special praise for Federico Dimarco.

The 21-year-old is a Brescia native who started his career at his hometown club before moving to Inter’s youth ranks in 2017.

The right-back rose through the ranks and even made a few appearances with Simone Inzaghi’s first team last term.

This season, he is spending his campaign on loan at St. Gallen 1879, a club that competes in Switzerland’s top flight.

In an interview with Cronache di Spogliatoio, Zanotti spoke about some of his Inter teammates, particularly those who, like him, play as fullbacks/wingbacks.

The youngster began by expressing his great admiration towards Federico Dimarco.

He also sees similarities between himself and versatile veteran Matteo Darmian.

“Since I’m a wingback, I am fascinated by Dimarco. He has incredible technical qualities” said Zanotti via TuttoMercatoWeb.

“As for Matteo Darmian, he has a formidable level of attention and that’s exactly what I appreciate about him. I truly see myself in him.

“I have been studying the Inter wingbacks. Dumfries has monstrous physical strength and an incredible stamina.

“I also faced Perisic in a match. He has a great ability to use both feet in one-on-one situations.”

Zanotti has managed to cement himself as a regular starter with St. Gallen. He has thus far made 23 appearances in the Swiss league, contributing with a goal and two assists.

The youngster will return to Inter in June, where he has a contract running until the summer of 2025.
