Benjamin Pavard isn’t thinking about EURO 2024 with France yet, as he’s still got the Serie A title to fight for with Inter Milan.

Speaking on the France national team’s official social media account, via FCInterNews, the 27-year-old gave his thoughts as he gears up to finish the season with the Nerazzurri.

Pavard joined Inter during the summer transfer window before this season.

The Frenchman arrived from Bayern Munich. And he came with a big transfer fee attached and significant expectations on his shoulders.

But so far, Pavard has lived up to those expectations.

The 27-year-old has slotted in perfectly to Inter’s back three.

Tasked with replacing Milan Skriniar on the right side of the Nerazzurri defense, Pavard has made sure that the Nerazzurri haven’t missed the Slovakian’s presence at all.

Pavard has the pace and marking ability to keep even the top wingers and strikers in Serie A quiet.

And in possession, the Frenchman’s technical ability, passing range, and adeptness as a fullback have enabled him to contribute in attack from the wide centre-back role.

Benjamin Pavard: Not Thinking About EURO 2024, Still Focused On Inter

Pavard is not just an important player for Inter.

The 27-year-old is also a regular in the lineup for his national team.

That has been the case since 2018, when Pavard was still a Stuttgart player. The defender wond the World Cup that year with Les Bleus, starting in every knockout match including the final.

And Pavard will almost certainly be part of the France squad for the upcoming Euros this summer.

Asked if he’s already starting to anticipate the tournament, the Inter defender replied “Absolutely not.”

“I’m not thinking about it now, it wouldn’t be good to think about it right now.”

“There are still a lot of matches to come with my club [Inter],” Pavard continued.

“We have goals for the season, trophies.”

Pavard made clear that “I need to finish the season with my club before I start thinking about the Euros.”
