Versatile Brazilian international Carlos Augusto will start in defense for Inter Milan in tomorrow’s Serie A match against Udinese.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has a bit of a dilemma in defense for tomorrow’s match.

Alessandro Bastoni is out for the match. And Stefan de Vrij is a doubt, due to just coming back from injury.

The Italian international picked up a slight thigh problem during yesterday’s training session. And de Vrij, meanwhile, is coming back from a thigh strain that he suffered during the international break.

Therefore, Inzaghi will have to sort out the back three without either of Bastoni or de Vrij.

Carlos Augusto To Start In Defense For Inter Vs Udinese

According to the Corriere, Inzaghi has made up his mind on the solution that he will go with in Monday’s match.

The coach will give the nod to former Mozna wingback Augusto.

The Brazilian has already started on the left of the back three several times this season.

Augusto’s versatility has certainly been an asset to Inzaghi in that sense.

And according to Sky, the coach will once again use the 25-year-old in that role.

That means that Federico Dimarco will start on the left flank.

And both Bastoni and de Vrij will have the chance to rest, at the very least, from the start.

Meanwhile, the Corriere report, Matteo Darmian is likely to start tomorrow’s match.

The 34-year-old has a similar versatility to Augusto. He is capable of playing on either flank, and also on the right of the defensive line.

But Darmian will get a rest from the start tomorrow evening.

It will be Denzel Dumfries who starts on the right flank. Then, Darmian could be an option to give any one of several players a rest later in the match.
