Wingback Juan Cuadrado will be back in the Inter Milan squad for tomorrow’s Serie A match against Cagliari after more than three months on the sidelines.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.

35-year-old former Juventus, Chelsea, and Fiorentina wingback Cuadrado has been an Inter player this season.

The veteran Colombian international joined the Nerazzurri on a free transfer last summer. This came after his contract with Juventus expired following eight years in Turin.,

Cuadrado’s move to Inter certainly came as a surprise to many.

Whilst transfers between the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri are hardly unheard of, Cuadrado was not just any former Juventus.

The Colombian had a strong association with the Bianconeri. Moreover, he had been at the centre of a number of flashpoint incidents between the Derby d’Italia rivals.

However, Cuadrado did make the switch. And over the first half of the season, the veteran wingback worked to win over the Inter faithful with his performances on the pitch.

However, unfortunately for Cuadrado, the 35-year-old had dealt with fitness problems for much of the first few months of the season.

The former Juventus wingback dealt with issues in his Achilles tendon.

Cuadrado was only able to make one start, in a Champions League clash against Real Sociedad.

That was in addition to a number of substitute appearances for the Colombian. But it proved to be his only start of the season.

Cuadrado underwent surgery in December after it became clear that his tendon problems would not properly heal without it.

And once the veteran wingback went under the knife, it always looked clear that he would be out for three months at the very least

And so it has proven. Cuadrado has not played or even been in a matchday squad for Inter since December.

In the meantime, the Nerazzurri have signed Tajon Buchanan from Club Brugge. The Canadian international had been a longtime target and has bolstered the depth at wingback.

However, now Cuadrado can finally return, Sky reports.

The 35-year-old will be in Inter’s squad for tomorrow evening’s Serie A match against Cagliari.
