Inter Milan are tracking “new Victor Osimhen” striker George Ilenikhena at Antwerp as a possible striker target for this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter are searching high and low for possible targets in attack this summer.

The Nerazzurri will already be bringing in one forward, in the form of Mehdi Taremi. The Iranian international will join on a free transfer from Porto.

On the other hand, former Arsenal veteran Alexis Sanchez will head for the exit door.

Marko Arnautovic’s future is not altogether clear. The Austrian is under contract with Inter for another season, but could well leave for the right offer.

And whether or not Arnautovic stays, Inter could still aim to strengthen their attacking depth.

Genoa’s Albert Gudmundsson is reportedly a major target in this respect.

However, the 26-year-old former AZ Alkmaar forward certainly wouldn’t come cheap. Therefore, Inter are also tracking some less expensive options.

Inter Tracking “New Osimhen” George Ilenikhena At Antwerp

18-year-old striker Ilenikhena is currently shining for Antwerp in the Belgian top flight.

The teenage striker is born in Lagos, Nigeria. However, he spent the majority of his childhood in France, having moved to the country at the age of three.

Ilenikhena has not yet made an appearance for either Nigeria or France at senior or youth team level.

Ilenikhena first broke through for Ligue 1 side Amiens last season.

Then, the teenage striker earned a move to Belgian side Antwerp last summer.

This season, Ilenikhena has made forty appearances for Antwerp. He has scored a total of fourteen goals for the Belgians.

And according to the Gazzetta, that has caused the 18-year-old to come onto the radar of Inter.

The Nerazzurri view Ilenikhena as a potential target to bolster their attacking depth, who would naturally have a fair bit of room to grow and improve over the seasons to come.
