Inter Milan are thinking about signing teenagers Anton Matkovic or George Ilenikhena as a striker for the future.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter are starting to seriously consider what their transfer strategy will be for the upcoming summer window.

And according to the Gazzetta, the Nerazzurri are thinking of moving for a young striker who can have a big impact in the future.

Inter already have two strikers who are very much the “present” – Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez.

And this season, the backups have been veteran forwards. Alexis Sanchez and Marko Arnautovic both arrived last summer.

Sanchez is set to leave Inter in a couple when his contract expires. Arnautovivc, meanwhile, is under contract with Inter until the end of next June.

Then, Mehdi Taremi will arrived at Inter from Porto on a free transfer this summer.

The Iranian is very much a player for the here and now, at the age of 31.

But according to the Gazzetta, Inter also want a different sort of striker in the squad.

Inter Thinking About Moving For Matkovic Or Ilenikhena For The Future

According to the Gazzetta, Inter are considering making a move for a very young striker.

Particularly with Taremi coming in, Inter’s attack looks fairly sufficient for next season.

But a younger player could have the potential to lead the line for years to come.

And according to the Gazzetta, there are two names in particular that Inter are eyeing up.

One is Osijen striker Anton Matkovic. The 18-year-old Croatian youth team international has barely featured at senior level, but is already convincing Inter.

Matkovic has earned comparisons to former Juventus and Bayern Munich striker Mario Mandzukic.

This is due to the teenage striker’s physicality, holdup play, and tactical versatility,

Meanwhile, “new Victor Osimhen” Geiorge Ilenikhena is also impressing Inter at Antwerp.

Ilenikhena has scored fourteen goals for the Belgians so far this season.
