Inter Milan are looking at Kurt Zouma, Jonathan Tah, and Olivier Boscagli as possible free transfer signings in defense next summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews.

Inter’s propensity for free transfer signings is one of the defining features of their strategy in the transfer market.

Since the arrival of Beppe Marotta at the club, Inter have brought in the likes of Hakan Calhanoglu, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Andre Onana, and Marcus Thuram as free transfer.

And there are two more big name free transfers to come this summer. The Nerazzurri are signing Piotr Zielinski and Mehdi Taremi at the end of their contracts with Napoli and Porto respectively,

Moreover, Tuttosport report, Inter are already keeping their ear to the ground as far as future free transfer opportunities.

And as far as that goes, the newspaper anticipates, there is a particular area that Inter are looking at.

Inter Eye Up Zouma, Tah & Boscagli As Free Transfer Opportunities In 2025

Inter are aware that they will have to sign a defender in the near future.

As things stand, Francesco Acerbi and Stefan de Vrij are the Nerazzurri’s two main options in the centre of their back three.

Both of the two former Lazio defenders are out of contract with Inter at the end of next June.

Moreover, Acerbi will turn 37 next season. And de Vrij will turn 33.

Therefore, Inter are considering how they will move on from the pair.

And Tuttosport report that the solution for a long-term successor to Acerbi and de Vrij could come via a free transfer.

There are three defenders whose current contracts with their respective clubs run out at the end of next June who are on Inter’s radar.

One is West Ham United and former Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma.

Another would be Bayer Leverkusen stalwart Jonathan Tah. However, the German international is also a target for Bayern Munich.

Lastly, Tuttosport report, Inter could resume their interest in 26-year-old PSV defender Olivier Boscagli when his contract with the Dutch champions expires next summer.

Meanwhile, the newspaper notes, Udinese defender Jaka Bijol is also on Inter’s radar as a prospective long-term successor to Acerbi and de Vrij.

Like those players, Bijol is a tall and physical defender with strong man-marking abilities. He is comfortable playing in the centre of a back three.

However, Bijol is under contract with Udinese until the end of June 2027.

Therefore, it is not as though Inter could sign the Slovenian on a free transfer any time soon.
