Inter Milan are reportedly considering a move for Lens defender Kevin Danso who would arrive as replacement for Stefan de Vrij.

As FcInter1908 explains, the Nerazzurri have decided to intervene in the market following Tajon Buchanan’s injury. The Canadian will be out of action for around five months with a fractured tibia.

But instead of bringing in a like-to-replacement capable of playing on the left wing, the Italian champions are seeking a central defender.

That’s because Simone Inzaghi will once again deploy Carlos Augusto in his natural position as a left wingback. The Brazilian acted as an understudy for Alessandro Bastoni during the second half of last season.

Hence, Inter tried to pull off a major coup by overtaking Napoli in the race for Alessandro Buongiorno.

However, the Torino defender’s move to the Stadio Maradona is already at an advanced stage. Therefore, the Nerazzurri would have to find another solution.

As the source explains, the Serie A giants have turned their attention to Danso.

The 25-year-old has been plying his trade at Lens since 2021. He was also one of Austria’s main protagonists during their EURO 2024 run which ended with a defeat to Turkiye in the Round of 16.

Inter Milan Keeping Tabs On Lens Defender Kevin Danso

The former Southampton and Augsburg star has a contract with the Ligue side valid until June 2027.

But in order to finance the move, the Nerazzurri will have to sell one of their own.

The main candidate to leave at the moment is de Vrij. Stefano Pioli is on the verge of taking over Al-Ittihad and has reportedly requested the signing of the Netherlands international.

The Nerazzurri are seeking a figure between 10 and 15 million euros to part ways with their experienced defender.

On the other hand, Danso’s cost is similar to Buongiorno’s, In other words, his asking price could be in the region of 35 million.
