The signs have been positive in training for defender Tomas Palacios now that he has arrived at Inter Milan.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInter1908.
Palacios only just completed his move to Inter last week.
The Argentine signed for the Nerazzurri on the final day of the transfer window. This concluded a chase that had lasted for the better part of August.
Inter are putting their faith in Palacios as a backup for Alessandro Bastoni who, at 21 years of age, could be capable of really growing into the team in the long term.
As the Corriere note, Palacios did not immediately start training with Inter over the international break.
The Argentine has been in his home country for a few days. This has been to sort out some of the bureaucratic documents and details on his move.
But yesterday, Palacios arrived in training.
And according to the Corriere, the signs were positive.
Positive Early Signs In Training For Tomas Palacios At Inter Milan
The Corriere note that the only Inter defender who has received a call-up for their national team during the break has been Bastoni.
Therefore, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has had the opportunity to really focus on working with the defense as a unit in training.
And yesterday, Palacios was able to join up with his new teammates.
The Argentine has essentially been taking the place of Bastoni in the training session.
The Corriere report that Inzaghi has liked what he has seen very early on from the Argentine.
Inter had already been convinced that Palacios has the right profile for the left side of their back three from scouting him in the Argentine league.
But yesterday, Inzaghi had a chance to get a much closer look at the 21-year-old’s physical and technical attributes.
According to the Corriere, Inzaghi has been impressed with what he has seen.
