Clement Turpin will be the referee for the upcoming Champions League semifinal first leg between Barcelona and Inter Milan.

This is confirmed by UEFA, via Gianlucadimarzio.com. Jerome Brisard will be on VAR for the European heavyweight clash.

This week, Inter Milan take on Barcelona in the first leg of a huge Champions League semfiinal tie.

The Nerazzurri reached this stage by knocking out Bayern Munich at the quarterfinal stage. Meanwhile, the Blaugranas faced German opposition of their own in the last round, Borussia Dortmund.

Inter and Barcelona have been two of the clubs with the best records in the Champions League this season.

Therefore, there is the feel of a real heavyweight clash as the two decorated teams go head-to-head.

Barcelona will host this first leg. Then, the second leg will be at the San Siro next week.

The referee for Wednesday’s match will be French official Clement Turpin.

Assisting Clement Turpin in his duties will be fellow French referees Nicolas Danos and Benjamin Pages.

The role of the fourth official, meanwhile, will fall to Francois Letexier.

In the VAR booth, Jerome Brisard will oversee the match to ensure to correct any errors by the on-pitch officials.

Assisting Brisard in his duties will be Willy Delajod, completing an all-French refereeing crew.

Inter will be hoping that the focus stays on the action on the pitch rather than refereeing controversy.
