Inter Milan will give Cristian Chivu a two-year contract running until the end of June 2027 to become their new head coach.
This according to Italian outlet Gazzetta.it.
Inter Milan have made their decision. Reportedly, the Nerazzurri have decided on Cristian Chivu to replace Simone Inzaghi.
The Nerazzurri had been working on snapping up Cesc Fabregas to become Inzaghi’s successor.
However, Como President Mirwan Suwarson strongly rebuffed the Nerazzurri’s interest, and stated that the Lariani would refuse to release the Spaniard.
Meanwhile, Genoa coach Patrick Vieira was another name reportedly on Inter’s shortlist.
Inter Milan To Hand Cristian Chivu A New Two-Year Deal

And now, Inter are wasting little time in making Chivu’s appointment official.
The Nerazzurri will meet with the Romanian and his representatives soon. Reportedly, they will look to finalize things in the next day or two.
Therefore, Chivu will take over as Inter coach before the Club World Cup this summer.
According to the Gazzetta, Chivu will put pen to paper on a two-year contract with Inter.
This will keep the 44-year-old on as coach until the end of June 2027.
Two ways to look at this. First is that Inter are looking for a YES man and Chivu is the right man for it which is bad or the second way which is Chivu will be more flexible to adjust the team with their strength and willing to shift to an attacking football when needed something that Inzaghi would never do. The third and ugly way to look at this is that since Chivu has no experience when things go bad(AND THEY WILL) they are really terrible and that will do more harm than good. Unfortunately it doesn’t look good because Inter needed someone who would force change to something positive and that requires an established coach who could be trusted even when things don’t go according to plan but this appointment is not that impressive because other than he’ll be a good YES man Inter are putting a lot of risk when a lot is expected to go wrong during transition to attack minded football.
He sure was great at Bologna, having 46% wins.
His honous include Serie A Coach of the Month: January 2022, February 2023, February 2024 and March 2024. Great! Fking great!!!
All this great stats of Motta vs poooor Chivu that actually won something
Inter Milan U19 – Campionato Primavera 2021–22
@Inter4life
probably the worst possible option was Chivu. so sad.
It seems it’s one those mistakes we see coming miles away. How can a coach with 5 months of experience be qualified to coach Inter?
I hope I’m wrong, I really do.
I’m afraid he will play defensive tactics… Counterattacking… It was time to switch to 4-3-3 like everyone else and play modern football but hey, that’s just what i think… Good luck to Chivu, must win Serie A to stay longer, we still have best players on paper! Forza Inter
I support France but glad Spain is winning 4-0 so people can talk about the scandal of France National Team and stop remembering inter!
lol
I am surprised ur little brain is not supporting Chivu
Spain 5- France 1: NEW scandal!
the good thing is he also play with 352
hopefully he can also play with 3421
whatever at least we are not gonna be that bad in serie a, may even win it again
not sure about Europe knockout qualification though
good luck chivu
FFS!!! We are ucl finalist and consistently in ucl, this season we made a lot of money, THERE IS NO EXCUSE we shouldn’t go after a good manager !!!
Chivu is not good and have no experience.
I don’t care if he was former inter player, look at lampard as coach, Gary neville, seedorf, pirlo, Henry, these were great players but sucked at coaching.
Mancini is available for free, so is Motta. But there is no way management can’t go after mourinho or klopp or pay a coach out of their contract. I COULDNT BELIEVE WHAT I WAS READING: Inter is asking the managers to leave their club and not pay a fee for them. WTF? Do you also ask clubs to release their players who’s under contract for free???
The MAIN reason we are going after chivu is simple: he plays the DREADFUL 3-5-2 system and management is CHEAP to buy different players for another system.
We won’t make top 5 this season mark my words.
Nasser bought the CL from his endless wealth. If the French ligue is so good why cannot France even won against Spain?
Spain 3- France PSG 0
You mean, inter will be in the relegated zone.
Maybe because Spain is also a very strong team, and PSG won not only because they can afford any player they want but also because of the spanish tactics.
why is motta better than chivu? he was a disaster at juventus.
Yes he was bad at juve but great at bologna. Plus he has more experience than chivu coaching serie a teams, chivu don’t even have HALF a season
actually Motta also had up and downs at bologna.
Really not convinced I would have taken motta..he has no system or experience to build a squad..he is gonna get fired after 19 games and then another interim coach till the end like ranieri or someone and next year another new coach pursuit..
yes…completely true….I would have gone after Motta
I will also take Motta. He had a rough season at Juve, but at least he already pushed his underdog team to the UCL, beat Inter at their best form, and honestly, he did okay at Juve.
But, I think Marotta will take three center-back formation specialists, which is not a typical Motta formation.
13 games in Serie A with Parma: 3 wins, 7 draws, 3 losses. For a team like Parma and with no preparation whatsoever (taking charge of the team in the middle of the season) he did pretty good given the circumstances he was under. Chivu is a treble hero and knows the club in and out; managed Inter Youth, Inter U17, U18, U19, and Primavera. He started his first 5 games using either 4-3-3 or 4-1-4-1 formation but then shifted to either 3-5-2 or 3-1-4-2 formation.
I was on the Fabregas bandwagon, but since that is no longer a choice, I’m okay with Chivu. As Interista Inglese mentioned: he is a treble hero, knows the club in and out, and knows all the youth players. I hope he does have a say in the transfer market and can shape the team the way he likes.
I’ll support Chivu and simply wish for the best moving forward. There are a lot of uncertainties at the moment, so let’s just hope the team is able to flourish.
completely agree I think majority were ok with Fabregas, but it is, what it is. We have the CWC coming up in 10 days and we can’t be without a coach, if we have a good season (top 4) and we play some decent stuff with the new players then we can keep him. Otherwise we can see who’s available next season. it’s a real shame there’s no real top quality coach’s available right now. Klopp unfortunately does not want to manage again otherwise he would be awesome for motivation after that shocking loss.
Aren’t you the same delusional individual who also vehemently justified BM and Barca scoring so many goals in CL against inter and based on your delusional bubble mind, you believed as of late that inter would have won the CL. Stop being irrational and start critising inter until they put their acts together.
All I’ve done is to tell you to shut your fucking mouth with your exaggerated and asinine takes. I never claimed that Inter would win the CL, let alone the treble. Of course I wanted these things to happend but I never predicted any of these things happening.
good one
A new era begins…. excited to see what Chivu can do!
I was a huge fan of Inzaghi, but after 4 years of Inzaghi, and 2 of Cunte Face, I’ll be happy to have a coach who allows his players to express themselves more, rather than being Slaves to a system! it might also be nice to see more players under the age of 35!!
Good luck Christian!! True Interisti will be behind you!!
It is what it is guys. Positives: If someone knows the Club inside out its Christian. Great player, respect from everyone, Treble hero. Managed all youth sections of the club, and did a great job. Managed a poor Parma and was really tough opponent for everyone. Very good statistic also with Parma. Will play with 3 on the back, eventually transitioning in the attack phase to back 4. Is cheap and loves the club. Negatives: Didnt win anything yet so its a risky choice, Dont have experience managing serie A teams. I think every Interista deep down prays Kiki will succeed at Inter, his home. Will it really happen, nobody knows… I wish you Kiki all the best, much respect and a lot of luck.
WE ARE OFFICIALLY COOKED IF CHIVU TAKES OVER. INTER WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME !!!!!!!
If we take a coach of the caliber of Chivu or himself, we will clearly return to the era of Jonathan, Ricky Alvarez, Campagnaro, Kuzmanovic, Ruben Botta, Belfodil, Osvaldo…, we will start to hope to finish 8th or 9th in the championship and then the last good players we have left will leave
They could’ve gone with Dejan Stankovic, also tripleta hero, but got more experience, won trophies and played Europe
Chivu’s career at inter will be Andrea Pirlo 2.0 career at Rube. I wish Chivu would have refused but he loves the club and while faithfully he wants to support in all possible ways, he lacks the experience.
Hahahaha. A few hours ago I stated that they will give him 2 years to avoid relegation and if he failed they will sack him in January and find him a job and some inter fans from here attacked me LOL
Nobody cares!
