Inter Milan and Simone Inzaghi parted ways in strange circumstances following a highly successful four-year spell at the helm.
Per La Repubblica via FCInterNews, Beppe Marotta is among the main culprits for the 49-year-old’s sudden exit.
Nothing suggested Simone Inzaghi could leave San Siro midway through the 2024/25 season.
However, only days after Inter’s collapse in the Champions League final, he announced his transfer to Al-Hilal.
Inzaghi’s decision came out of the blue but wasn’t unfounded.
Three Things Inter Milan Didn’t Do to Stop Simone Inzaghi from Leaving

Beppe Marotta may have let overconfidence cloud his judgment.
Indeed, he took Inzaghi’s contract renewal for granted and refused to offer him fresh terms in March.
Instead, he believed it was a ‘mere formality’ and decided to postpone extension talks until the end of the season.
Furthermore, the club didn’t back the former manager amid Inzaghi’s raging conflict with Serie A referees.
Finally, they didn’t listen to Inzaghi’s request to sign a new striker in January.
All that led Inzaghi to choose Al-Hilal’s monstrous contract proposal over Inter.
Meanwhile, Cristian Chivu faces turmoil at the start of his managerial career at San Siro.
Things are not looking good so far.
No thanks. We don’t need ONE TACTIC guy. It’s better he leave it.
The main reason was money, but also Inter is not an easy club to manage. He never really had much support from the directors, and since Oaktree took over and appointed Marotta as president, things seem to have gotten worse…
Youre idiots if you think he wouldnt accept 26 million per year even if he signed a new contract. Also Oaktree has given assurences new younger players will be sold. He is a money hungry and i can accept that. He had 2 CL finals with this players and he lost 2 scudettos. Im glad he is gone cuz you cannot say he didnt had players to win.
Not sold, bought. Example was Sucic and Zalewski. Its the coaches problem if he only wants to play older players. It means he is then limited. Cuz sure as shit he aint selling all these old donkeys, just like he broight his fellow friend Correa and payed out of his pocket his salary. Oh i forgot, he didnt, it was Marottas bank who financed this idiot
stop saying rubbish cause some of u are stupid he’s right to leave cause he was not given a transfer budget d club just decided for him so he didn’t betray inter Milan but inter Milan betray him by always threatening him if being sacked
There is only one reason. He is a rat and he ran for the money. He already has a contract to 2026 so what is the rush? you cant fool the fans we know why he left end of the story!
He left bc Oaktree wants to buy only cheap, unproven youngsters and expects the coach to win trophies with them.
Yes agreed that’s exactly what Inzaghi left us
Its all bullshit. Inzaghi left for money and we all know it.
This.
And Inzaghi is the real main person that Lautaro speaks of.
Backstabbing, greedy man with no allegiance betrayed his team at the most vital moment and created a wave of doubt and desertion.
I don’t care if somebody wants to take the money. But be a man about it and speak honestly.
True that.
Remember that Lautaro said more or less the same thing during Lukaku’s saga.
Lautaro is the one who defends this colour. He felt Lukaku backstabbed him. And now he is going through a similar situation.
I think it will become only more common with mercenary coaches and players.
Signing free agents will also bring you more of these types.
Hopefully creating a real professional B team will start allowing us to bring more Inter-raised players into the first team and we can have dedicated players like prime Barcelona.
If it were you won’t you leave for the money
