Inter Milan lead Atletico Madrid in the race to sign Ademola Lookman, and are in talks with Atalanta to work out the fee.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Correire dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Inter are offering €40 million, while Atalanta want €50 million.
In the last couple days, a bombshell has emerged regarding Inter’s summer transfer plans.
Reportedly, the Nerazzurri have been in talks to sign Atalanta forward Ademola Lookman.
Inter’s interest in the 27-year-old is more than just a passing interest. They have already approached the player, who is keen to make the move.
Meanwhile, Inter have already signalled their interest to Atalanta. They are ready to move fast and make an offer to get talks started.
Inter Lead Atletico Madrid In The Race For Ademola Lookman – In Talks With Atalanta

According to the Corriere dello Sport, Inter are clear frontrunners in the race to sign Lookman.
The Nerazzurri are not the only team hoping to sign the former RB Leipzig and Fulham forward. Atletico Madrid have also marked him out as a target.
However, Inter are ahead of the Colchoneros as things stand.
The Nerazzurri are ready to put an offer on the table worth €40 million to Atalanta. Meanwhile, La Dea value Lookman at around €50 million.
However, that is hardly an insurmountable distance for the two clubs to make up in negotiations.
Not least because Atalanta are amenable to getting Lookman his desired move. After keeping hold of the Nigerian last summer, they’ve made him an implicit promise to play ball this summer.
Therefore, Inter and Atalanta should be able to work out a compromise in negotiations quickly, reports the Corriere. Possibly through the inclusion of some add-ons in the deal.
Meanwhile, Inter have a few backup targets with a similar profile to Lookman’s.
Among these would be RB Leipzig’s Lois Openda, Chelsea’s Christopher Nkunku, and Monaco’s Eliesse Ben Seghir. Or, alternatively, they could even go after a new name if they miss out on Lookman.
Why? And 50 mil ??
Doesn’t he look fat, with that rounded face? May be that’s just a wrong impression…hopefully it is
lookman offer pace and penetration with his dribbling which tbh, Lautaro, Pio cannot offer. Thuram is the only option if we bounce a long ball up the field.
but whether is lookman the right target though, given the cost needed to sign him….
Do not understand this move at all.
If you want to play 3421. Pio or Lautaro or Thuram can play lone striker.
At 2 attaching midfielder. You can play Lautaro or Thuram or Bonny or Fratessi there.
Why waste money here.
I do not think we need another attacking player. We new middle centre back how can play faster againt fast forward opponent.
We need backups… If lautaro, Thuram, and fratessi are starting we have Pio and Bonny. A third 3rd Attacker would be needed to do this formation. also Lauti cannot pay CAM.
