Barcelona have reportedly turned down the chance to sign Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries this summer.
This according to Spanish outlet FCInterNews. They note that the Dutchman was offered to the Blaugranas and has a release clause, but is not a priority target as FFP restricts the Catalan giants’ spending.
Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries has a €25 million release clause in his contract.
Moreover, the 29-year-old recently switched agents. He came under the representation of Portuguese super agent Jorge Mendes.
That has naturally led to plenty of transfer rumours regarding Dumfries’s future.
Barcelona Turn Down Chance To Sign Inter Wingback Denzel Dumfries

According to Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona have held several rounds of talks with Mendes.
And in all of these transfer summits, the agent has offered a deal for Dumfries.
And the €25 million release clause means that a deal for the Dutchman wouldn’t be that difficult.
However, reports Sport, Barcelona do not consider right-back to be a priority area.
Moreover, Financial Fair Play means that the Blaugranas have to be very careful about their spending this summer. Even in terms of bargain deals for players like Dumfries.
Therefore, Barcelona have not triggered the former PSV wingback’s release clause.
Now, Dumfries’s release clause at Inter expires at the end of today. Therefore, Barcelona are not going to trigger it.
We all Called it – hopefully his head hasn’t been turned too much and he can get back to the form he showed at points last season where he was arguably our best player for a while..
yes he’s a bit of a liability defensively but with Dimarco having a poor season (he’s my fave player) Dumfries was the only real threat outside Lautaro.
Great news.
LOL Dumfries got to understand that Inter is probably the only big club that will appreciate his characteristics. His physicality is good but he lacks on the ball skills and intelligence and that is why teams like Barca and Man City would not want him. I really hope Henrique proves his worth and become a starter over this guy who doesn’t appreciate playing for Inter.
The guy never said publicly he wants to leave and gives his best every match, why do u want him on the bench. Let Henrique prove his worth either by playing wingback or left wing and see what he can offer
he’s a moron and loves saying nonsense
That’s for sure.
