Inter Milan could receive a fee of €6 million for defender Tomas Palacios as he closes in on a loan to Basel.
Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, report that that is the purchase option in the deal. However, Inter also have a buyback option.
Inter Milan are already prepared to say goodbye to defender Tomas Palacios after just one year at the club.
Inter signed Palacios last summer. He was arguably the first signing that really heralded a switch in focus from relying on veteran players to investing in younger players.
However, the Argentine has never really managed to establish himself at Inter.
Palacios spent the second half of last season on loan with Monza. However, it was a relatively inauspicious loan spell for the 22-year-old.
Inter Could Pocket €6M From Tomas Palacios To Basel

This summer, Inter have agreed a deal to loan Palacios to Swiss side Basel.
Moreover, the loan deal will contain a purchase option for Basel.
The Swiss club can sign Palacios next summer for a fee of €6 million, reports the Corriere dello Sport.
However, the newspaper adds, Inter will also have a buyback option as part of the deal.
Horrible purchase, 6.5mil which can rise to 11mil and then sell him for 6mil. You can’t buy a player of 21 age and then hope he can improve by sending him on loan to seria B or teams that are fighting for survival in seria A. You buy players of 21 age and higher to contend for first team, not to send him on loans.
