Serie A title hopefuls Inter Milan made several dubious decisions during the summer transfer window.
According to Libero via FCInter1908, the club’s mistakes were not Oaktree’s fault but rather a matter of basic arithmetic.
Indeed, Inter Milan director prioritized numbers over the team’s actual needs.
Therefore, the San Siro giants missed out on several top targets, including Ademola Lookman.
Furthermore, they failed to sign Giovanni Leoni, allowing Liverpool to steal the Italian prodigy under their noses.
Inter Milan Dropped Ball During Summer Transfer Window

Inter never lacked funds, as Oaktree made sure to provide the necessary financial backing.
Instead, it was Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio’s practical choices that ultimately left the squad weaker than intended.
However, it’s impossible to be harsh to the Nerazzurri duo after everything they’ve done for the club.
Unfortunately, they failed to meet expectations this summer.
For context, except for Ange-Yoan Bonny and Luis Henrique, Inter failed to sign any of their top targets.
As a result, what was supposed to be a transitional summer turned into a frustrating period of missed opportunities.
How they missed Leoni is a mystery for the history books. We have no dangerous wingers or cams AND totally failed to rebuild the defence – forcing us to play the same formation as always. There’s no depth to the squad. Sucic, Bonny and Henrique were critical, but theres no room for error.
How they missed Leoni is a mystery for the history books. As though he’d just wait around forever. He should have been first priority before Lookman. Then missing De Winter, Solet, Frendup, Kone etc..

The only fault I find is that they simply refuse to buy anyone without selling someone first. Buy what you want and then sell. The players to be sold should be informed they have no place here and to move on with a decent offer from another club. Other clubs do this, why can’t Inter?????
The two of them should leave Inter. they are the major problem Inter is having. Very useless set of management
I am not angry with Oaktree as I like the direction they’ve set which is to go for younger players. The problem is actually Beppe Marotta and Piero Ausilio who spent over 5 weeks being obsessed with Lookman and had nothing planned as plan B. Its definitely not Oaktrees fault for us missing out on Leoni, Koni, Lookman, Openda and many other talents we could have Bought.
Let’s not forget about Marotta holiday vacation during a very crucial time.
It’s funny that many still think Oaktree is a good owner. Man, the first priority for Oaktree is to make profits not winning the champ. Of course they would like inter to win, but its obvious they won’t overspend to do it, They would be fine as long as inter can stay at top 4 and get the CL entry. Oaktree is not Moratti or even Zhang, who aimed and tried to win something even the financial situation was no good. Yes Ausilio and Marotta suck this summer, but the ultimate problem is Oaktree.
