Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez led by example in last night’s Champions League thrashing of Royale Union SG.

According to Corriere dello Sport via L’Interista, El Toro soaked up the limelight as Inter’s headline performer at Lotto Park.

Despite showing signs of fatigue against Roma on Saturday, Lautaro Martinez returned to his best yesterday.

Indeed, the 28-year-old maintained his free-scoring form in the Champions League with his 29th European goal for the Nerazzurri.

Lautaro doubled Inter’s advantage after Denzel Dumfries put them in front at the tail-end of the first half.

However, before scoring his 24th Champions League goal, El Toro made another noteworthy contribution.

Indeed, in a manner of top center-backs, he pulled off a phenomenal goal-line clearance to keep Royale Union at bay at 0-0.

As a true captain, he led Inter’s attack with relentless energy, constantly pressing and linking up play.

Moreover, El Toro created a perfect scoring chance for Francesco Pio Esposito before the youngster repaid the favor in that 46th minute.
