Josep Martinez is set to make an emotional return to the Inter Milan squad just days after the tragic road accident in which he accidentally struck and killed an elderly man while driving.

According to Sky Sport, via FCInter1908, the Spanish goalkeeper will be on the bench for Sunday’s match against Hellas Verona.

This marks his return to the squad after the incident.

The 26-year-old received the club’s full support during the difficult week.

His teammates and staff rallied around him after what was described as a deeply distressing accident.

Therefore, he is now ready to rejoin the matchday group, though Yann Sommer will continue to start in goal.
