Inter Milan Target Goalkeeper And Centre-Back For 2026

By 2026, Inter plan to make two indispensable signings: a goalkeeper and a central defender to lead the backline for the next generation.
The club have begun assessing candidates in both roles, with several profiles under continuous scouting across Serie A and Europe.
For now, the January priority remains reinforcing Chivu’s midfield with energy and tactical balance, but the vision is clear.
Building an Inter capable of long-term continuity at the top, with a core of reliable players ready to carry the project into the next cycle.

We wasted about 50m on two players that are not priority to the team, diouf and Luis Henrique when we could have bought a solid young serie a central defender and a solid ball winning physical midfielder but we decided to go foreign acting as if we had 300m budget for the summer. Whoever scouted diouf for inter should have is scouting Licence revoked
I think we definately need both. Central Defence/rcb and the midfield needs a revamp long term. Frattesi is not a midfielder as he cant control/pass/tackle and is a ghost in most games. Zielinski lacks confidence and is always injured. Mhiki is too old as is calhanoglu long term for the way he plays, That’s 4 of the 7. We really need people with great stamjna and creativity and a ball tackling midfielder. All top teams have a great bench, even we do at the moment but someone like a Kone would be a massive upgrade to all of team.
This may be a stupid question but why do we keep bringing in midfielders? We already have so many and we dont use them. Frattesi, Diouf, Zielinski. We also have Sucic which does see some minutes but not as much as he should. I know Çalhanoglu and Mkhitaryan are older and on their last legs but in my opinion we need a back line Bastoni is solid and Agusto can cover for him but we need a true defender so Agusto can focus on the wing for Dimarco. Akanji has looked good but he’s also an older player which is going to get tired over the grueling schedule we have. Then we have De Vij and Acerbi, i appreciate everything they have done for the club but they are just to slow for the strikers/forwards in todays game. I really liked Nicola Zalewski, he showed skill but he was sold. I don’t know maybe it’s just in my head.
